Streamline Solutions launches ELEMENTS v2.0.0
5th March 2015: Streamline Solutions is proud to announce the release v2.0.0 of ELEMENTS, a groundbreaking CFD software suite for vehicle design applications.
ELEMENTS v2.0.0 incorporates several new features, improvements and bug fixes with respect to the previous release v1.3.2. The software is now supported in both Linux and Windows platforms, including a new version of HELYX-Core v2.2-2.1 (ENGYS' own enhanced open-source simulation engine based on the OpenFOAM® v2.2 library). The dedicated external aerodynamics CFD wizard has been extended to include new vehicle shapes with embedded best simulation practices, all fully validated against hundreds of wind tunnel tests organised by ARC. A new general purpose CFD interface has also been added to handle other vehicle design CFD applications beyond external aerodynamics, all within an easy-to-use GUI designed to reduce the turn around times for solving UHMT, HVAC, in-cabin flows, aeroacoustics simulations, etc.
Other major enhancements in this new release of ELEMENTS include, but are not limited to:
- Complete refactoring of the GUI for better usability and new look-and-feel
- Improved up-to-date 3D display for fast handling of large CAD datasets
- New Solver interface for monitoring aerodynamic forces and other solution parameters
- Improved automatic reporting tool
- New parallel execution panel with asynchronous client-server for remote execution in HPC clusters
- Up-to-date documentation, all accessible via the Help menu in the GUI
